Overview
Job Type: Staff member.
Salary: Competitive Trainee Manager starting salary.
Location: You will be working as required from home or at the job-sites in Dublin and the surrounding area. We run a paperless office and we are not fixed to one location.
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm (1-hour total for tea breaks and lunch break). On occasion you may be expected to work on Saturdays.
Job Description: You will be supporting our director, Alan Boyle, to run the UK and Ireland Boyle Copper & Zinc Craft Ltd businesses. You will also be expected to learn a basic level of Coppersmith skills so that you are able to supervise and troubleshoot job installations.
Responsibilities:
- Project management with the client and architects as required
- Providing technical advice to clients
- Installation scheduling
- Installation management (ensuring snag free installations) of all Ireland installation teams
- Procurement of materials
- On-site job measures for quotations
- Developing quotations from drawings and live site measures
- Provide CPD training to Architects as part of our CPD Lunch & Learn Programme
- Training of installation staff as required in the Boyle Copper & Zinc Craft Ltd processes and systems
- Learning from Alan Boyle and developing effective systems that other staff members can use to become more skilled and self-sufficient
Requirements
Essential requirements:
- Degree or College Diploma/Certificate in construction, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, or similar
- Good time-keeping
- Proactive attitude
- Able to work effectively with a minimum level of supervision
- Mature level of communication skills
- Read and implement architectural drawings
- Project management skills
- Proficient in excel and word
- Willing to work as a Trainee Coppersmith part-time to gain an overview knowledge of roofing & wall cladding installations
- Willing to actively learn from Alan Boyle to systematise the knowledge for general use in the business
Desired requirements:
- Driving licence (own car or motorbike would be an advantage)
- Construction experience
- Project management experience
- Experience with driving transit vans
